Azerbaijan prevents smuggling of 29.7 kg of drugs in Caspian Sea -PHOTO

On March 19, the smuggling of drugs in the southern direction of the Caspian Sea to the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented as a result of the cooperation of the coastal control units of the Coast Guard of the State Border Service, technical observation points and the border ship, State Border Service told APA.

As a result of implemented measures, Agayev Jafar Bahadır, born in 1989, a resident of Lankaran district Balıgchilar settlement, who was in a boat equipped with a "Yamaha-25" engine with a "BA-580" board number in the area of the Kyzylagac State Nature Reserve in the southern direction of the Caspian Sea, was detained by the border guard.

Marijuana weighing 29 kilograms 715 grams, "Baikal" shotgun, 24 cartridges, as well as "Garmin" GPS device, "Samsung Galaxy A5" and "KGTEL" brand mobile phones were found in seven parcels and seized during the inspection of the boat.

Operational-investigative measures are underway.
