Azerbaijan launches UAV on border with Iran, seizes 42 kilograms of drugs -PHOTO

On November 1, at 14:40, 7 kilograms and 650 grams of drug smuggling from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented by the Border Troops of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan (SBS) in the service territory of the " Horadiz" border detachment, the SBS told APA.

On the same date, at 18:35, a border guard observed a violation of the state border laws from the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan by an unknown person in the service area of the border outpost located near Mahmudlu village, Fuzuli district.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was launched into the air in order to find the hiding place of the violator, and as a result of complex border search measures with the service dogs, 1 Iranian citizen was detained. As a result of the conducted search and operational measures 31 kilograms and 50 grams of of drugs were found and seized from detained person.

On November 4, at 10:55, 3 kilograms and 385 grams of marijuana hidden by the smugglers in the service area of the border outpost located near Boyuk Bahmanli village, Fuzuli district were found and seized.

Operational-investigative measures are underway.
