Head of press service of General Prosecutor Office Eldar Sultanov: â€œAccording to the preliminary version, fire at the Heydar Aliyev Center was caused by the violation of security rules during welding workâ€

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA. â€œThe site of fire was completely examined and it was determined that the fire covered the roof of the centerâ€™s museum. Evidences, welding equipments were taken from the site for examinationâ€, head of press service of General Prosecutor Office Eldar Sultanov told journalists.

He said yesterday investigators, prosecutors and mobile criminal investigation laboratory staff examined the fire site. Experts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of National Security and Ministry of Justice also joined them. The criminal investigation was launched under the article 225.2 of the Criminal Code (violation of fire security rules).

According to the joint order signed by the Prosecutor General, Minister of Emergency Situations, Minister of National Security and Minister of Justice on July 20, 2012, the special group of experts of these organizations was established.

The group of investigators of the Prosecutor General, Ministry of Emergency Situations and Ministry of National Security was also established according to the order signed by the Prosecutor General.

Eldar Sultanov told journalists that preliminary investigation showed that the fire was caused by the violation of security rules during welding work. Other versions are also investigated now. The public community will be informed about the results of the investigation.

Sultanov said no casualties were among the firefighters, security officers and workers during the fire.
