26 members of the gang stand trial presided by Judge Ali Seyfaliyev.
The public prosecutors negatively appreciated the distortions of information about the trial in shorthand and sent notification to press. They said that if their notifications do not give any result they the journalists will not be admitted to the trial. Some lawyers objected to the prosecutors’ solicitation. Only Samad Aliyev, the lawyer for Haji Mammadov for meeting of the solicitation.
Haji Mammadov said that this solicitation is a preparation for closed trial. He said the journalists should be admitted to the trial.
Then Zakir Nesirov, Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department former chief gave a testimony. He did not agree with the accusations against him.
“I do not understand the essence of these accusations. I have no relation to the crimes. I am guilty only for having an officer like Haji Mammadov in my office,� he said.
The trial will continue in the second half of the day. /APA/
