More than 1,000 organizations from 140 countries support creation of Global South NGO Platform

On November 15, 2024, during an international conference held within the framework of COP29, a proposal was made regarding the establishment of the Global South NGO Platform, said Ramil Iskandarli, Chairman of Board at Azerbaijan National NGO Forum, at a briefing held today, APA reports.

He recalled that an international conference on South-South cooperation of NGOs from the Non-Aligned Movement region was held at COP29.

Ramil Iskandarli noted that more than 1,000 non-governmental organizations from 140 countries supported the statement adopted by the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum in this regard: “This initiative was welcomed by NGOs from nearly 140 countries, and more than 1,000 foreign NGOs issued a joint statement supporting this initiative.”
