On the second day of the European and CIS Postal Leaders Forum held in Baku, the focus was on postal supply chains, “Azərpoçt” LLC, operating under the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON) told APA.

Key topics discussed included global postal supply chain trends, digital applications, and the implementation of sustainable logistics practices.

The forum was attended by high-ranking representatives from postal organizations across various countries, as well as representatives from prominent companies, all aiming to contribute to the development of postal systems in the context of modern trends.

Yuichiro Ishibashi, Vice President of the International Business Development, Security, and Automation Systems Department at Japan’s Toshiba Corporation, shared his thoughts on Azerbaijan’s digitalization strategy and postal system:

"I have heard that the Azerbaijani government has developed strategic documents related to digitalization and the digital economy. For instance, government services are provided through digital platforms, allowing people to easily access services via these applications. This is a very important step, indicating that the Azerbaijani people are quite familiar with new and digital technologies.

Azerbaijan Post, as the national postal operator, not only has a rich historical heritage and a specific business model but is also working to expand its services beyond traditional postal services by collaborating with international e-commerce platforms to enhance delivery services. Additionally, Azerbaijan Post is interested in applying new and digital technologies and shows a positive approach in this area.

Overall, Azerbaijan is developing rapidly today. There is a noticeable interest in new technologies and a positive attitude towards improving services and the quality of life."

It is worth noting that the European and CIS Postal Leaders Forum has been held in Baku since May 13, organized by the Universal Postal Union, supported by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and “Azərpoçt” LLC.
