"The most common cybercrimes in Azerbaijan are those directed at citizens," said Nadir Novruzov, head of a department at the Special Communication and Information Security State Service (SCIS), during a panel discussion at the event titled “Public Processes in the Media Landscpae,” APA reports.
“Stolen funds are not only used for personal gain but are also acquired to support other forms of cybercrime. It would be incorrect to claim that there is only one specific type of cyberattack in Azerbaijan. As a State Service, when we analyze attacks directed at government institutions, we observe various types of attacks. These include phishing, the delivery of malware, cyber espionage, and other forms of intrusion,” he said.
