The high-level plenary sessions of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25) were held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
Ministers, deputy ministers responsible for digital development from various countries and representatives of international organizations spoke at the sessions.
The discussions were held around the general theme of the conference, “universal, useful and accessible connectivity for an inclusive and sustainable digital future.”
The speakers provided information on their countries’ ICT policies, digital infrastructure projects and regional cooperation strategies.
The World Telecommunication Development Conference, organized by the International Telecommunication Union, aims to bridge the digital divide between countries and promote digital transformation. This year, Azerbaijan is hosting this prestigious event for the first time in the CIS region.
The conference provides a unique opportunity to discuss developments and review projects in areas such as cybersecurity, digital inclusion, ICT applications, innovation and ICT regulation.
The conference will contribute to shaping the global digital development agenda for 2026-2029.
