The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has adopted new national standards in the field of artificial intelligence, AZSTAND told APA-Economics.
The newly adopted standards include AZS ISO/IEC 23894:2025 "Information Technology – Artificial Intelligence – Guidelines for Risk Management," AZS ISO/IEC 23053:2025 "Framework Document for Artificial Intelligence Systems Using Machine Learning," AZS ISO/IEC 24029-2:2025 "Artificial Intelligence – Assessment of Robustness of Neural Networks".
These standards define key topics of trustworthiness for AI systems, including core computational features, important algorithms, and approaches used in these systems.
The goal of implementing the new standards is to establish common rules and guidelines to ensure the correct operation and interoperability of AI systems across various platforms and sectors.
The new standards were discussed within the Technical Committee on "Information and Communication Technologies" (AZSTAND/TK 05), approved by the Institute, and included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.
Note that these standards were adopted as part of the implementation of subparagraph 8.1.5 of the Action Plan for the "Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028," approved by the Presidential Decree No. 530 dated March 19, 2025.
