A commemorative postage stamp has been issued in memory of the aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) that crashed in Kazakhstan on December 25 last year, APA-Economics reports.
The presentation ceremony for the stamp was held today at the Azerbaijan National History Museum.
As part of the presentation, a sample of the stamp was displayed as a special exhibition at the museum. The infinity symbol featured in the stamp’s design represents the enduring memory of the tragic event, its victims, and the heroism of the crew that left a lasting mark on the nation’s history.
The issuance of the postage stamp was a joint initiative of AZAL and Azerpost LLC and is dedicated to the anniversary of the plane crash that occurred near Aktau. The project not only pays tribute to the cherished memory of the victims of the tragedy, but also highlights the heroism of the crew members who, through their professional, coordinated, and selfless actions under extreme conditions, saved the lives of 29 people.
Recall that of the 67 people on board the AZAL passenger aircraft operating the Baku–Grozny flight, 38 lost their lives and 29 survived.
