Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov met with a delegation led by Afgan Nifti, Chairman of the Board of the prestigious US-based research center - Caspian Policy Center, APA-Economics reports.
The meeting exchanged views on transport, energy, digitalization, economic cooperation and sustainable development issues in the Caspian region.
Rahman Hummatov provided detailed information on the infrastructure and institutional reforms implemented to expand the Middle Corridor. The Deputy Minister noted that Azerbaijan is taking important steps towards becoming a multimodal logistics center in the region. The introduction of digital transport systems, modernization of ports, railways and airports, and the development of the Zangezur corridor are of particular importance in this regard.
Rahman Hummatov also highly appreciated the research and initiatives conducted by the Caspian Policy Center in the field of sustainable development, energy security and promotion of regional stability in the Caspian region.
During the meeting, opportunities for expanding cooperation within the framework of future joint projects and analytical platforms were also discussed.
