Establishing legal norms among space subjects of OTS proposed

We propose the creation of legal norms among the space entities of the Organization of Turkic states (OTS) to start future space projects, said the Acting Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos), Dunay Badirkhanov, at the 4th meeting of the heads of space agencies of the Organization of Turkic states (OTS) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

He mentioned that Azerbaijan is ready to share its experience in this field: "The adoption of the 'Space Activity Law' in Azerbaijan was a vital step in formalizing our national space ambitions. This law, modeled on international treaties and norms, serves as a roadmap for sustainable development in the space sector. Its compliance with the UN space treaties ensures that our activities meet global standards and strengthens our commitment to responsible space exploration."

Dunay Badirkhanov noted that the Turkish World 2040 Concept, adopted in 2021, encompasses clear goals for space cooperation among Turkic states: "It emphasizes our collective commitment to peaceful space exploration and scientific progress. In this context, the establishment of the Turkish Space Innovations Fund is an important milestone in our collective journey. This fund already lays the foundation for joint research initiatives, satellite development programs, startup incubation, and the commercialization of space technologies across the entire Turkic world. By combining our resources and experience, we are creating a regional innovation ecosystem."
