The global economic damage caused by cyberattacks exceeded 8 trillion US dollars in 2024, according to calculations by international analysts, and is projected to surpass 10 trillion US dollars in 2025, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev said at the “Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge 2025” (CIDC-2025) event held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
Aliyev emphasized that, given the growing integration between local and global information systems supporting Azerbaijan’s transition to a digital government and digital economy, strengthening digital security solutions and enhancing human resource potential are crucial for ensuring the country’s economic security.
