The Baku Declaration was adopted at the Summit of Space Agency Leaders within the framework of COP29, Samaddin Asadov, the Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos), told journalists, APA reports.
He noted that the declaration outlines efforts for countries to bring their space strategies and programs into a unified framework: "In particular, concerning natural disasters occurring in different parts of the world, they will make urgent joint efforts and try to deliver aid to those places. Another key point of the declaration is that space agencies should strengthen their collaboration with organizations focused on ecology and climate change, as well as with civil society, to better understand their needs and to ensure that the data collected by satellites is delivered to end users in a more accessible and efficient manner."
