On October 9–10, one of the country’s most prestigious cybersecurity events — Cyber Incident Defence Challenge (CIDC 2025) — was held for the second time at the Baku Congress Center, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency told APA.
The competition brought together Azerbaijan’s strongest cybersecurity teams and tested their skills in a cyber warfare contest based on real attack and defense scenarios.
A cybersecurity solutions exhibition was held within the framework of the event. The Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (AKM), operating under the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, was represented at the exhibition with its own stand and presented the local innovative products “GAIA” and “Awero” to visitors. The functionality and practical application possibilities of both solutions were demonstrated.
The CIDC 2025 program also included panel discussions. At the panel titled “A New Playground for Cybercriminals: Smart Cities,” Shahin Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, delivered a speech and shared his thoughts on the cybersecurity challenges of smart city infrastructure and advanced defense models.
During the cyber warfare competition held as part of CIDC 2025, two teams from the Innovation and Digital Development Agency successfully participated. The “Digital Rangers” team, consisting of employees from the IDDA, and the “Dopamine” team from the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center ranked in the top ten in the competition final.
AKM’s participation in the event is of great importance for establishing both local and international partnerships in the field of cybersecurity, strengthening collaborations, and promoting Azerbaijan’s cybersecurity potential on the international stage.
