Azerbaijani students will launch satellite into orbit for the first time with SpaceX rocket

In 2025, launching the "PocketQube" pico-satellite into space orbit using a "SpaceX" carrier rocket is planned as one of the culmination points of these initiatives, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport told APA-Economics.

This project will take place among 7th-9th grade students within the framework of the "Azerbaijan National Satellite Innovation Competition", organized by the KOSMIK Academy operating under Azercosmos, with the support of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, "Pasha Holding", the Brazilian Space Agency, and the Brazilian company "IDEIA Space".

The PocketQube satellites were first launched into orbit in November 2013. The launch was carried out using the Austrian UniSat-5 platform, and several minisatellites were placed into orbit as part of the project, including the WREN (Germany), T-LogoQube (USA) and QBScout-1 (Italy). This concept is not only a product of technological progress, but also a kind of symbol of the idea that space belongs to everyone.
