The Azerbaijani delegation is participating in the 28th Congress, the supreme decision-making body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on September 8-19, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MIND) informed APA-Economics.
Held every 4 years, the Congress elects the Director General and Deputy Director General of the UPU International Bureau, as well as the Chairman and members of the Postal Operations Council and the Administrative Council. This year, Azerbaijan has nominated its candidacy for both councils and is participating in the elections.
The Congress, the supreme decision-making body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), plays a central role in forming policies and regulations in the field of international postal services. This prestigious gathering, which determines the future development of the global postal system, is attended by authorized representatives from all 192 UPU member countries. During the elections, 41 members of the UPU from five regions are selected to serve on the relevant Councils.
The “EMS AWARDS” award ceremony was held before the Congress. “Azerpocht” LLC, one of the AZCON Holding companies, was awarded the silver award for its efficient activities and was also among the winners in customer service.
