Azerbaijan serves as one of the key logistics in region - RCC Director General

The “Postal Leaders Forum” held in Baku concluded today, "Azerpost" LLC told APA-Economics.

On the third day of the forum, attended by over 150 high-level representatives from more than 30 countries across Europe and the CIS region—including national postal services, technology and e-commerce companies, and experts—discussions were held on the transformation of the postal sector in response to global trends and digital disruptions.

The Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) for CIS countries, Aleksey Borodin, shared his thoughts on the significance of holding such a prestigious event in Azerbaijan: “Azerpost has always been one of the most advanced and developed institutions in the region. We are aware that many modern services are being implemented, and financial and digital services have also been introduced at the state level. Naturally, due to its geographical location, Azerbaijan serves as one of the key logistics hubs and routes. I believe that Azerbaijan’s geographical position, favorable logistical characteristics, and innovative services make it one of the primary launching points for development in our region. This will contribute not only to the creation of alternative routes but also to the emergence of additional ones. We know that the volume of shipments, postal deliveries, and digital financial services is increasing. There is also a noticeable rise in money transfers between countries. We believe that these two factors—Azerbaijan’s strategic location and its modern infrastructure—play a crucial role in forming additional development points in the region. This will not only boost Azerbaijan’s economic potential but also enhance the region’s attractiveness in terms of logistics routes and digital financial services.”
