In April 2025, the median mobile internet speed in Azerbaijan was 74.08 Mbps, placing the country 57th among 104 countries, a drop of 5 positions, says the Speedtest Global Index report released by Ookla, APA-Economics reports.
The report also noted that in the previous month, Azerbaijan advanced 5 positions in terms of fixed broadband internet speed, ranking 86th among 155 countries.
Specifically, the median speed of fixed broadband internet in Azerbaijan was 76.87 Mbps in April.
The Speedtest Global Index also published a ranking of internet speeds in capitals and major cities worldwide. According to the report, the median mobile internet speed in Baku was 90.57 Mbps, which means a drop of 3 positions to 83rd place among 150 cities compared to March.
During the same period, Baku advanced 1 position in terms of fixed broadband internet speed, reaching 76.02 Mbps and ranking 114th among 200 cities.
