Azerbaijan drops in global internet speed rankings

Last month, Azerbaijan dropped by one position in the global ranking of average fixed broadband internet speed compared to September, placing 84th among 156 countries, APA-Economics reports, citing Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index.

The average fixed broadband speed in the country in October was 84.82 Mbps.

In the list of countries by fixed broadband speed, Singapore ranked first (406.14 Mbps), while Syria ranked last (3.51 Mbps).

For average mobile internet speed, Azerbaijan also dropped by one position compared to September, ranking 53rd among 104 countries last month.

According to the report, the average mobile internet speed in the country in October was 79.94 Mbps.

The United States ranked first in mobile internet speed (652.87 Mbps), while Bolivia ranked last (13.96 Mbps).

Last month, Baku also dropped by four positions compared to the previous month in the ranking of cities by average fixed broadband speed, placing 116th among 201 cities.

In October, the average fixed broadband speed in the capital was 85.02 Mbps.

Valparaíso, Chile, topped the list of cities with the fastest fixed broadband speed (417.99 Mbps), while Aleppo, Syria, ranked last (2.75 Mbps).

In October, Baku improved by two positions in the mobile internet speed ranking, placing 79th among 150 cities. The average mobile internet speed in the capital reached 101.66 Mbps.

Among cities, Abu Dhabi ranked first in mobile internet speed (726.55 Mbps), while La Paz, Bolivia, ranked last (9.72 Mbps).
