Azerbaijan and Türkiye’s telecommunications regulatory authorities to implement joint project

During the “WTDC-25” held in Baku, a meeting took place between representatives of Azerbaijan’s telecommunications and postal services regulatory authority, the Information and Communication Technologies Agency (IKTA), and Türkiye’s telecommunications regulator, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT) told APA-Economics.

Chairman of IKTA’s Board, Nail Mardanov, provided information on the steps taken in Azerbaijan in the field of digital transformation, the modernization of the sector, and efforts to align regulatory mechanisms with international standards.

It was noted that the development of cooperation between IKTA and BTK is of great importance in terms of responding promptly to modern challenges and enhancing security and service quality in the telecommunications markets of both countries.

The meeting discussed expanding the exchange of experience in areas such as radio spectrum management, network resilience, mutual information exchange during emergencies, as well as the regulation of social media platforms. The parties assessed prospects for future cooperation and agreed on the implementation of joint projects.
