The delegation led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vugar Gulmammadov, met with the President of the Egyptian State Accountability Institution, Mohammed Al-Faisal Youssef, who will serve as the Chairman of INTOSAI for the next three years, within the framework of the XXV Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, Chamber of Accounts told APA-Economics.
It was noted that the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts expressed his gratitude for the organization of the sincere meeting and emphasized the importance of the Congress in terms of strengthening international cooperation.
In turn, Mr. Al-Faisal Youssef, welcoming the Azerbaijani delegation, expressed his gratitude for their participation in the XXV INCOSAI. He noted that chairing INTOSAI requires great responsibility and said that special attention will be paid to the application of artificial intelligence in state audit, which is one of the topical issues during the leadership of the Egyptian AAO. He also expressed hope that joint initiatives will be implemented in this area.
The President of the Egyptian AAO provided information about the Working Group on the Auditing Impact of Science and Technology, which he leads, and invited the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan to become a member of that working group.
At the same time, the Egyptian AAO, which has extensive experience as an external auditor of international organizations, requested the Chamber of Accounts to support it in the process of selecting the external auditor of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for 2026–2027.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of possible areas of cooperation between the two organizations.
