Azerbaijan adopts state standard for artificial intelligence management systems

The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), subordinate to the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has adopted the state standard AZS ISO/IEC 42001:2025 “Information technology - Artificial intelligence - Management system,” AZSTAND told APA-Economics.

The new standard defines the requirements for risk management, adherence to ethical principles, and transparency in the application of artificial intelligence technologies. At the same time, it covers the most modern algorithms and approaches for the construction, application, maintenance, and continuous improvement of artificial intelligence systems.

The new state standard “Information and communication technologies” was discussed in the Technical Committee on Standardization (AZSTAND/TK 05) and was approved by the Institute and included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.

Note that the new state standard was adopted in order to implement subparagraph 8.1.5 of the Action Plan for the implementation of the "Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028", approved by Order No. 530 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 19, 2025.
