Hundreds of thousands of cyberattack attempts against information systems are observed in Azerbaijan every day, and the recorded figures reflect only the visible part of existing threats, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association Rauf Jabbarov said during his speech at the 4th National Cybersecurity Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the statistics presented during the forum show that the scale of cyber threats is steadily increasing.
“Hundreds of thousands of attacks occur during a single day, and this is actually only the visible side of the process. The invisible part of the iceberg contains many times more attacks. It is precisely for this reason that special attention is paid to issues of international cooperation at the forum,” he emphasized.
“Through international cooperation, it is possible to act more effectively in preventing cyberattacks originating from foreign countries,” he added.
Rauf Jabbarov also noted that the number of local products and services should be increased in order to reduce dependence on foreign IT solutions.
“This is one of the important directions for strengthening the country's technological independence in the future,” he added.
