Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan spoke about the current situation in the South Caucasus and prospects for regional cooperation, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Türkiye reports.

During his speech at the panel session titled “South Caucasus: On the Path to Becoming a Strategic Center,” held as part of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Kostanyan noted that at present, the South Caucasus is considered one of the most stable regions in the world, especially at a time when logistics and supply chains are being disrupted everywhere and wars are ongoing.

"However, disruptions in supply chains will not last forever. We must be smart and flexible enough to realize the competitive advantages we possess,” he noted.

Vahan Kostanyan emphasized that Armenia and Azerbaijan should intensify their efforts to open communications.

According to him, this process requires strong political will and decisions as an integral part of the peace agenda: “Just as achieving peace requires political will and decisions, we must now move forward with new, very important political decisions to open communications in the region, create additional connectivity between our countries, and become a bridge and barrier-free link between Europe, Central Asia, and the Far East.”
