Azerbaijan has significant opportunities for regional economic cooperation, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Rolande Simone Pryce said, APA reports.
She made the remarks during the plenary session titled “Unlocking CAMCA’s Development Potential: Policy Foundations for Regional Cooperation” at the CAMCA 2026 Regional Forum in Baku.
Pryce said Azerbaijan has a very stable economic position, supported by large financial reserves, low public debt, and prudent fiscal and monetary policies.
“This is a very successful economy. We can see it even when walking through the streets,” she said.
The World Bank official noted that the South Caucasus has major opportunities due to its geographical location, natural resources, and history, which also give the region significant geopolitical importance.
“The South Caucasus is located at the crossroads between Central Asia and Europe. This geographical position, natural resources, and the region’s history place it in an important geopolitical position,” Pryce said.
She added that the region’s potential can be realized through the parallel advancement of infrastructure development, policy reforms, and regional cooperation.
Pryce also highlighted the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route as an important example of practical cooperation supporting the economic development of countries in the region.
“There is strength in unity, and cooperation brings success,” she added.
