The SCO Plus format could become an important platform that brings together states, regions, and international organizations around a common agenda, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during his speech at the SCO Plus meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.
He said that the UN should retain its central coordinating role in the system of international relations, while regional structures should complement its efforts.
“The new world order should not only reflect the global balance of power in the system of international relations, but also contribute to the fair resolution of regional problems,” Mirziyoyev emphasized.
The President of Uzbekistan proposed developing the SCO Plus format as a platform for interregional dialogue.
According to him, sustainable development, the application of high technologies, adaptation to climate change, human capital development, accessible education, and support for young people should be the main areas within this framework.
Mirziyoyev also proposed creating an open bank of interregional projects and technologies in the fields of natural resource use, green energy, digital services, and healthcare.
The Uzbek leader noted that multipolarity in Eurasia should not create new dividing lines but, on the contrary, should expand the space for cooperation and mutual opportunities.
