Uzbek President: Azerbaijan's accession to Consultative Meeting format elevates cooperation to a new level

Azerbaijan's accession to this Consultative Meeting format elevates our cooperation to a qualitatively new macro-regional level, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the Informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries, APA's correspondent dispatched to Kyrgyzstan reports.

"I congratulate you and the brotherly people of Kyrgyzstan on Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term. I would also like to express my gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for his effective chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting format.

Today, we have gathered on the eve of the 35th anniversary of our countries' independence. Over these years, each of our states has followed its own path of state-building, economic growth, and national revival.

Thanks to our joint efforts, Central Asia, once divided, is today becoming more closely united around shared development goals. At the same time, the complex and unpredictable international environment requires us to take more decisive steps and strengthen our coordination.

Azerbaijan's accession to this Consultative Meeting format elevates our cooperation to a qualitatively new macro-regional level. We now have a historic opportunity to create a common development space linking Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and our close neighbor Afghanistan. We must make the most of this opportunity and build a solid foundation for sustainable development in the heart of Eurasia through stronger cooperation and good-neighborly relations," the Uzbek President said.
