“Today, there is a need for serious reform in the UN Security Council; the voice of developing countries should be heard there more loudly,” said President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of the Turkic States, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Gabala reports.
He noted that the process of adopting a Strategic Friendship Agreement should be completed to strengthen the role of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) as an international organization: “We propose enhancing our economic and trade relations in the industrial sector and establishing a Turkic States’ Industrial Alliance. Our practical cooperation should be implemented through concrete projects.
At the same time, we suggest creating an electronic system called the Turkic Green Corridor and promoting leading technologies and public-private projects related to green energy.”
The Uzbek leader also addressed the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace negotiation process, noting that the Joint Declaration signed by Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington is a victory for the Turkic peoples.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the declaration opens up opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as the economy and transport.
