The Organization of Turkic States is not a military-political bloc, but cooperation in the military-technical sphere exists, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov told journalists, APA reports.
Kamilov noted that although there is military-technical cooperation among member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the organization does not function as a military-political bloc.
“We cooperate in the military sphere and exchange technologies, but this organization is not a military-political bloc. This should be clarified so that no one has concerns,” Kamilov said.
He added that such cooperation between countries is a natural process.
“Countries cooperate in military technologies, exchange military-technical experience, and share expertise in other areas,” the adviser stated.
Kamilov emphasized that the main purpose of the organization is to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties, expand economic cooperation, and promote collaboration in scientific and technical fields.
“Of course, cooperation in the military-technical sphere is possible, but this does not mean the organization will turn into any political bloc,” he stressed.
