The Memorandum of Understanding signed by President Donald Trump and President Ilham Aliyev in Washington is the first step toward establishing a U.S.-Azerbaijan strategic partnership, said U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Amy Carlon, APA reports.
The diplomat hopes that this will strengthen coordination on issues of mutual interest: “Over the next three years, my goal is to further strengthen relations between our countries, to enhance the peace process in the region, and to promote economic projects that will benefit both Azerbaijanis and Americans.”
Hand in hand, we can achieve more. It has already become clear to me that Azerbaijan has a rich culture, hospitable people, beautiful nature, and delicious cuisine. I look forward to experiencing all of this during my time here."
