"The construction of a natural gas interconnector that will connect 5 Central Asian countries with Azerbaijan via the Caspian Sea may meet the interests of the United States," Senator Steve Daines said this in a question to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a hearing in the US Senate, APA reports.
He noted that only 20 miles are needed to build the interconnector, which could provide Central Asian countries with huge gas reserves with access to European markets.
