The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has concluded its operations in Azerbaijan as of May this year, UNFPA told APA.
It is reported that during its 30 years of presence in the country, UNFPA played a key role in supporting the government and national and local partners in improving maternal health, combating gender-based violence, and promoting population policies.
“UNFPA’s engagement with Azerbaijan will continue through its regional office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as its headquarters,” the organization noted.
