The development of ICT is incredible compared to global economic development, said the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Rebeca Grynspan, at the opening ceremony of the XII Global Baku Forum themed "Rethinking the World Order: Turning Challenges into Opportunities," held under the patronage of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, APA reports.
Rebeca Grynspan, thanking the President of Azerbaijan for his efforts in the development of trade, said that the digital era can be seen everywhere: "Multipolarity is not a choice, it is a fact. Geopolitics and national security complement each other in many countries. Countries have stated that 95% of tariffs are accepted due to national security. The World Trade Organization, on the other hand, has called on countries to eliminate tariffs."
The Secretary-General of UNCTAD noted that unless the share of renewable energy reach 80 % of the total electricity generation, the climate crisis will remain.
