UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has described the initialing of the US-brokered peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia as a positive development, APA reports.
Guterres made the remarks at the opening of the 80th UN General Assembly session in New York.
He noted that progress was made last year in resolving several conflicts, offering glimmers of hope in international relations.
“Last year gave us signs of hope. For example, the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, and the agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia mediated by the United States,” Guterres said.
