"Muslims in different countries of the world are victims of prejudice and discrimination,” was noted in the speech of High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) that was addressed to the participants of the “Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024” held in Baku, APA reports.
The UN High Representative said that hate speech against Muslims and the Islam religion is increasing: “Muslims, Jews, face discrimination and the elements of xenophobia, Islamophobia are on the rise. Toleration, respect for all religions is important and encouragement of these values is important. We must combat against discrimination and build an inclusive world where peace exists. Our alliance is fighting against discrimination in this direction.”
