"Azerbaijan has gained quite important achievements in increasing the participation of women in society," Assistant Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator and Director, Bureau for Policy and Programme Support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Marcos Neto said at the Stakeholder Consultation on 4th Voluntary National Review of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

"Firstly, we want the implementation of international standards on gender equality in Azerbaijan. During my recent visit to Brazil, I saw the implementation of important innovations in this field. I would like Azerbaijan to also move forward in this field. Another problem is demining. One more important point is the fight against climate change. Azerbaijan has taken on important obligations by 2050 in this direction. As UN, we would very much like your country to benefit from the experience in this field. In order to gain more success in this direction, efforts must be combined, and all interested countries must take a unified position."
