"The existing relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine have great potential for successful development in trade, energy, infrastructure, culture, education, and other fields," Ukraine’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev said at an event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, APA reports.

He noted that over the past period, the strengthened relations have been based on strong trust, as well as the principles of respect for sovereignty and the right to independence.

He also expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Azerbaijan for the $1 million in humanitarian aid provided to his country.

According to the diplomat, the economic and trade relations between the two countries have now entered a new phase.

He specifically emphasized Ukraine's interest in the development of the "Middle Corridor" in the region.

The diplomat also highlighted Azerbaijan's successful participation in humanitarian demining operations in Ukraine: "We are interested in the restoration of the 'Middle Corridor' and the development of transport links with the Caucasus region along this important route. Our country highly values Azerbaijan's support, particularly in ensuring the resilience of our energy sector, as well as in the demining operations carried out in Ukraine. Azerbaijan has also played a significant role in the rehabilitation of children affected by the war in our country. I would also like to note that a considerable number of Azerbaijanis have sacrificed their lives fighting for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Each of their names is inscribed on the building of the Ukrainian Embassy in Azerbaijan."

An employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Garay Muradov, noted that the relations between our countries were built on a solid foundation during the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Member of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) and head of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Friendship Group, Alibala Maharramzada, expressed confidence that these relations would continue to strengthen: "We will continue our efforts to further consolidate these ties."

The head of the Ukraine-Azerbaijan Friendship Group in the Rada, Vladimir Kraydenko, highly praised the multifaceted cooperation and friendship between the two countries:

"We have an extremely broad and comprehensive potential to further advance these strategic relations. By utilizing the existing opportunities, we are interested in taking our cooperation to even higher levels."
