"I extend my deepest condolences on behalf of the government and people of the United Arab Emirates to the government and people of Azerbaijan for the tragic plane crash," Mohammed AlBlushi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Azerbaijan said while signing the condolence book opened at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
He expressed the hope that no nation would experience such a tragedy again: "We believe that the causes of the crash will be determined soon."
On December 25, an Embraer 190 aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, flight J2-8243 on the Baku-Grozny route, diverted towards the city of Aktau due to the necessity of an emergency landing and crashed near Aktau. The plane carried 67 people, including 5 crew members and 62 passengers. As a result of the crash, 38 people lost their lives, while 29 survived.
The causes of the crash are under investigation.
