The Economic Cooperation Organization can play an important platform role in the development of multilateral cooperation, said Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, at the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), APA’s correspondent dispatched to Khankendi reports.
“Turkmenistan proposes the creation of a special investment mechanism within ECO. Turkmenistan considers the establishment of the Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry within ECO for the development of mutual trade to be essential. It proposes the establishment of a digital platform for chambers of commerce and the formation of a mechanism for mutual recognition of quality certificates. Turkmenistan also supports the creation of cross-border free trade zones. Economic integration should be accompanied by the expansion of humanitarian relations among our peoples.”
The Turkmen Foreign Minister noted that ECO has rich potential to become one of the leading integration organizations.
