Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations will further develop, Ambassador says

"With the strong leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, we will further develop our relations in accordance with the Shusha Declaration," Birol Akgün, incoming Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, told journalists, APA reports.

The ambassador said that he will try to further strengthen the relations during his diplomatic tenure.

“As the new ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, I have already presented my credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. I would like to thank Mr. President once again for his gracious reception. As Mustafa Kemal Ataturk emphasized, Türkiye and Azerbaijan are brotherly countries. Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, and its sorrow is our sorrow. I am proud to be in the presence of our martyrs. Türkiye and Azerbaijan have always been together. We waited for the Victory of our brothers in the Garabagh war. We will not forget the helpfulness of our brothers in Azerbaijan during the February 6 earthquake. With the strong leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, we will further develop our relations in accordance with the Shusha Declaration. We will work day and night on this path,” the diplomat emphasized.
