Lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus is important, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his speech at the 25th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of State, APA reports.
The Turkish leader noted that the recent steps taken for lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus are gratifying: "We hope that these steps will contribute to the development of economic and trade relations and the opening of transport and communication lines."
At the same time, Erdoğan expressed support for the territorial integrity of Syria and stressed that they will stand against any initiative that threatens Syria's territorial integrity.
