“I believe that the South Caucasus will finally achieve the long-awaited peace. I saw this during my bilateral meeting with my friend, Mr. Ilham Aliyev,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, APA reports.
Erdoğan added that the Washington agreement has accelerated the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan:
“Azerbaijan and Armenia have largely overcome obstacles on the path to peace and have reached the final stage. I had substantive meetings first with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, and then with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia. In both meetings, I observed that Aliyev and Pashinyan share the same position and are looking in the same direction.”
