"A new page has been opened in the South Caucasus with the end of Azerbaijan's occupation that has lasted for more than 30 years," said Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye at a joint press conference with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova, APA reports.
The Speaker of the GNAT said that Türkiye wants to ensure a just peace in the South Caucasus.
He noted that they want to end tensions in the South Caucasus.
Numan Kurtulmuş, reminding that reconstruction work is ongoing in Karabakh, stressed the importance of the Zangazur corridor: "We hope for the opening of the Zangezur corridor, which is an important transit point for not only regional countries but also neighboring countries outside the region, and even world trade, as a cooperation and security corridor here too. We continue to support Azerbaijan in this regard. The opening of the Zangezur corridor is a condition for ensuring the interests of not only Azerbaijan and Türkiye, but also all countries in the region. We wish the Zangezur corridor to be opened as a peace corridor."
