Turkish Minister: Azerbaijan informed us about Zangezur Corridor

“After the peace agreement was initialed yesterday, I had a long phone conversation with my Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at a press conference in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, APA reports.

The minister stated that the Azerbaijani side had informed Türkiye in advance: “We reviewed the process comprehensively overall. We also discussed the Zangazur corridor. If the Zangazur corridor project in our strategy is implemented, it will be a significant part of a transportation corridor that directly connects from Europe to the depths of Asia. This will connect Türkiye to the Caucasus region and the Caspian Sea, not only to Central Asia but directly to the Turkic world while it will connect the Turkic world to Europe through Türkiye, and Europe to the depths of Asia through Türkiye.”

Nazir bildirib ki, Azərbaycan tərəfi əvvəlcədən Türkiyəyə məlumat vermişdi: “Biz ümumilikdə prosesi hərtərəfli nəzərdən keçirdik. Zəngəzur dəhlizini də müzakirə etdik. Strategiyamızdakı Zəngəzur dəhlizi layihəsi həyata keçərsə, Avropadan başlayıb Asiyanın dərinliklərinə qədər birbaşa gedən bir nəqliyyat dəhlizinin əhəmiyyətli hissəsi olacaq. Bu, Türkiyəni Qafqaz regionu, Xəzər dənizi üzərindən sadəcə Mərkəzi Asiyaya yox, birbaşa türk dünyasına bağlayacaq, türk dünyasını isə Türkiyə üzərindən Avropaya bağlayacaq, Avropanı isə Türkiyə üzərindən Asiyanın dərinliklərinə bağlayacaq”.
