Turkish FM: We are waiting for signing of peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia

The Azerbaijani lands – the Karabakh region – remained under Armenian occupation for approximately 30 years, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at a press conference with his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo, APA reports.

The minister stated that Azerbaijan heroically fought and liberated its lands from occupation: “Of course, the liberation of the lands from occupation conditioned the frozen conflict in the region to end with a lasting peace agreement. Long discussions had been going on between the parties. Yesterday in Washington, a peace agreement was initialed, and we are awaiting the signing of the peace agreement.”
