A trilateral meeting between Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia is planned to be held next month, Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, said during her meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, who is on a visit to Tehran, APA reports.
According to the minister, a joint working group to be established in the near future will review transportation and customs issues. She also noted that the Kelaleh-Aghbend bridge and border terminal project will be completed by Nowruz, and the expansion of the Kelaleh-Julfa road is also planned.
Other topics discussed during the meeting included the joint development of oil blocks, the extension of the gas exchange agreement to Nakhchivan, the transfer of Russian gas to Iran via Azerbaijan, and the development of the electric grid among the three countries.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation is also scheduled to visit the Shahid Rajaee port and sign a memorandum on port cooperation.
Farzaneh Sadegh emphasized her hope that travel and cooperation between the two countries will lead to comprehensive growth and progress.
