There is an agreement with Azerbaijan regarding the return of soldiers who go astray and cross the border, said Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference held today, APA reports.
PM noted that there has been an agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia for a long time, if a soldier goes astray and crosses to the other side's territory, he is returned in a short period.
According to Pashinyan, the last time the soldier who was returned to Azerbaijan (Ruslan Panahov) was returned based on the same principle: "The case was investigated and it was confirmed that the Azerbaijani soldier, indeed, went astray and crossed the border. We made sure there was no reason to charge the soldier and released him. I'm sure that the other side will act based on the same principle if our soldier goes astray."
