"Nakhchivan is a very important strategic zone," said Magdalena Grono, the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus in Nakhchivan, APA reports.
She noted that thanks to the mutual efforts of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a new phase has begun in the peace and normalization process: “This period creates new opportunities for full-scale normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as for the development of the entire region. Nakhchivan is a very important strategic zone. The opening of roads that have been closed for many years will benefit not only Azerbaijan and Armenia but all countries in the region. This is extremely important in terms of communication and the development of regional connectivity.”
She also praised the tourism potential of the region, saying, “Nakhchivan has great tourism potential. In my opinion, it would be very good for Europeans to see this incredible beauty.”
