President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared in his speech at the UN General Assembly that Azerbaijan is now a victorious country, said Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova during today’s parliamentary session, APA reports.
“The head of state declared that Azerbaijan has transitioned from being a country under occupation for decades to a victorious and leading country. The initialing of the peace agreement and other reached accords have demonstrated our state’s ability to defend its national interests both through the use of force and by securing them through legal and political instruments. The peace agreement also showed that sustainability is only possible on the basis of international legal norms. In the president’s speech, significant attention was given to mine clearance in the liberated territories, their reconstruction, the return of former internally displaced persons to their homelands, and the development of infrastructure,” the speaker noted.
